Useful Links

There are a number of useful sites which assist in identifying species in the genus Elysia, as well as providing informative details about sacoglossans generally, and
 these can be found below.

  • The Sea Slug Forum website has been set up by Bill Rudman (formerly of the Australian Museum) and is an excellent site for all kinds of sea slug information. It is also a particularly useful site if you are trying to identify a species, and if you are unsure of your species you are able to post onto the site and someone should be able to assist you in identification.
  • The Global Biodiversity Information Facility has a number of excellent interactive maps available that are helpful when attempting to identify a species if you know where it occurs.
  • As well as providing links to numerous pulications on the sacoglossa, the Australian Museum has numerous researchers working on these species that are often able to assist in identifying a species if you are unsure. Many thanks go to the researchers at the Australian Museum who assisted in attempting to identify Elysia sp. for this webpage.
